Episode 12 - Saturday, September 6th, 2008 - 7:00PM EST

Can you believe it? The 12th episode? We're so close to a full year's worth of podcasting goodness!

Topic ideas
  • Memory/Resource Management - what methods do you use to help you in your memory and resource management? This can be anything as low level as writing wrappers for malloc/free, or as high level as the system you use to load and utilize game assets
  • Wearing it on your sleeve - talk about your experiences with letting people know you're into games, and--even worse--you like to make them too! Do you hide your game development endeavors from your non-gamer friends? How do people's reactions to what you spend a lot of your free time doing make you feel?
  • Cred - which indie/hobbyist developer do you look up to the most, and why? What is it about their endeavors that inspires you? Take the time to let a developer out there know that they're giving you motivation to keep on going
Other suggestions are, obviously, welcomed. I'll keep the main list to three and replace/reorder as necessary!

I just want to mention that everyone I know think it's totally freakin awesome that I develop games. I can't imagine anyone not thinking that it's cool. Playing games is a different story, but I don't really play a lot of games, so that's not really a factor...

Sounds like it'll be an interesting episode. I think I'm feeling well enough to catch this one.

Why havingi Megaman as a stepdad would suck.

Let's examine the issues, shall we?

Sustenance

Megaman - He doesn't need food, but you'll have to keep his joints lubricated; the rapidly rising costs of oil will make this an expensive endeavor.

Petey - Insects are free.

Petey - 1
Megaman - 0

Usefulness in epic battle against Magneto

Megaman - Need I say anything?

Petey - He can shoot fireballs. Let's see Magneto dodge fireballs!

Petey - 2
Megaman - 0

Recyclability

Megaman - Clearly highly recycleable, you'll get a good profit from the recycling center. Good thing too, 'cause he's obviously useless.

Petey - Plants are fully biodegradeable.

Push.
Petey - 2
Megaman - 0

....................................................

Well, having taken an incredibly objective gander at all of the relevant facts, I think I can safely say that I've made my point very clear.

Not only can megaman shoot energy blasts, eh can absorb the power of Fireman or whatever and shoot fire if wanted to. On top of that megaman's recyclability is far greater since he is made of advance materials. Which leads the my final point, these advanced materials do not need lubrication and therefore is actually free.

Megaman would also be a great provider. Being able to absorb the power of other ...mega-men...(?) I'm sure there's a snack vending machine or pastry machine he can absorb the power of, allowing him to shoot endless amounts of food for the family.

Nice episode as usual. I have to correct Kenny about Syn9's Griffon Legend. It wasn't made with QB but Freebasic. Heres the link to Syn9's hideout where his (insane ^^) projects are.

I had a lot of fun with that episode. I guess laughter truly is the best medicine!
