I have very mixed feelings on this one. I love the gameplay stuff. I like the originality. But I don't like exploring randomly generated worlds. I feel like I'm exploring something that doesn't exist, that doesn't matter. I don't mind the 8-bit graphics but I wish it had smoother animation. I love me some hand drawn art. I don't want things to be choppy though.

OOOH. Lovecraft. NES style art.

I'm sold.

That shit looks pretty cool! I like the oldschool art style combined with current production values. It also seems creepy as hell.
I just wish that last screenshot said "An 8bit" instead of "A 8Bits". That shit's bothering me yo.

Oh god BroForce looks awesome!!!

Goatsimulator seems more like a hack but it was amusing to watch. It does beg the question, why don't more games have you play as a goat? Or some other animal?

As far as I know, Goat Simulator is just a tech demo of the Coffe Stain Studio's game engine created while developing that engine. They published a video about it and people got mad, so they were forced to "finish" a game and publish it.

Try to ignore the typical movie preview format of this video complete with BRAAM. The premise of the game seems pretty cool. Had the nazi's won the war..

I don't know, Nazi's in the US kinda rubs me the wrong way. It feels like the writers twisted themselves in a knot to try and get Nazi's on US soil, just to be able to do a "Axis won" game that's played in the US. Why not just let the Nazi's win and set the game in Europe. I mean, if the Axis won the war, wouldn't it be way more likely that the US would be put under Japanese supervision instead? Imagine the Axis winning the war and Germany insisting on getting the US, the Japanese would've never allowed that.

So yeah, just feels... off, to me. As a European. I mean, sure, just as much US citizens suffered during the war, but we're the ones who can still see the bullet holes in buildings.

You know Gil, if they had won the war they would have betrayed the japanese rather quickly.

About the game... I dont know. If I do end up getting it it'll probably be because I'm curious about the Doom beta.

I have a writer friend of mine (close friend- awesome guy) who is writing for Doom 3 for Id. I'm trying not to be jealous of that...and the other friend of mine (also close friend, this time dating back 20 years to HS) who writes professionally for video games and worked on Saints Row 4.

Grimrock II. Your badass next-gen Dungeon Master clone is even more bad-ass.

I don't get dungeon master clones :(. I never liked playing them in the 90's because of the awkward movement controls and nowadays I'm just like:
What the effing hell is fun about reinventing the bad parts of the 90's combined with the bad parts of today (graphics over content).

Looks bad-ass, would never want to play it. And yes, I gave Grimrock I a go. Was completely flabbergasted that anyone wants that.

I played *A TON* of this game growing up: Dungeons of the Unforgiven.

As ugly as Snood, but I still loved it.

Speaking of cool... Postal 2 is getting another official expansion. Yes, that Postal 2.

Much better. Music kinda sucks, though. I still have nothing to play this on :|

That's a lot of running around. And superfast swimming!

Is this also coming for New3DS, or was that the original one being ported over?

I haven't played any of these. They remind me a bit of Phantasy Star, though. :]

Not this one. The one that we can't mention is coming to 3DS.

Yeah, the PS vibe is strong with both games. That's one of my favorite aspects. I love the idea of Phantasy Star, even though I think the games themselves are kinda garbage. 4 is pretty good.

Persona 5, with gameplay.

The *shtick* this time appears to be masked heroes, and the mascot a cat.

It looks like Persona, if Persona were made by Grasshopper. I *really* want this now.

Granted I have never played any of the persona games, the gameplay portions of that video just looked "meh" to me. Looked like any other game out there. Am I missing something? The part on the chandeliers was especially "ugh" to me.

Am I just grumpy today? :]
