I take this as yet another proof that the console was stressed out as all hell.
Not that its a concern at all considering that it's apparently outselling the Wii all over the globe.

Yeah, I'm happy to see it doing well. After the flop that was the Wii U and all.

A group of local friends, we get together every week to play games (usually board games). This week we made it a Nintendo Switch night, and we had a blast.

We played 4 player:
- Bomberman R
- Snipperclips
- Puyo Tetris (Japanese)

Bomberman was fun. We had a few good moments. Snipperclips was also really fun. I didn't realize it had a 4 player mode, but we definitely entertained ourselves.

Then we finished the night with Puyo Tetris, a game that's only available in Japan right now. Fortunately the Nintendo Switch is region free, meaning you can make a user account tied to the Japan region, and download demos and buy games from other regions. So we played the demo, which is EXTREMELY full featured.

Good times.

I'm super happy with the system. Makes me wish I had a few months to crunch together something 4 player. :)

Who has the switch then? To be honest the games list right now isn't too impressive.

I'm pretty heavily invested in the PS4 right now.

Switch needs to pick up enough 3rd party exclusives to convince me to bite, which it probably won't. Or maybe it will? I'm so bad at figuring out what people like :D

Switch is a great idea though... portable gaming sucks because the controls are total ass, and console gaming sucks because you can't take it with you. Whoever successfully bridges the gap wins, I think.

I'm pretty happy with mine. Haven't started Zelda yet, but I picked it up cheap the other day (haven't tasted the cart either).

Blaster Master Zero was OK. Puyo Puyo Tetris is great. Mario Kart is Mario Kart. Splatoon was fun like I remembered it, but I'm the only one in our gaming group that cares about it. I'll probably grab the Wonderboy remake at some point.

My main concern with the Switch is I want to be sure whatever I buy for it runs at 60 FPS (except where not possible, i.e. Zelda). The Dragon Quest Heroes demo was ROUGH.

I have one. I really like it, actually. I was super skeptical of using it in portable mode, but it's quite nice for that.

Infinitely more fun to play what's available right now with someone else (psychically present in the same room as you). :]

Monster Hunter Double Cross (sequel/expansion to Cross, i.e. Generations) was just announced, so my purchase is now justified.

Best I can tell it's just a port though (was 3DS). Characters do look higher res, but backgrounds look rather polygonal. Monster Hunter is available on an HD capable system again though, so I have no complaints. I'm sure they'll make it more beautiful in later iterations. For now, I'm just happy I wont need to use the 3DS anymore.
