Bundle up, kids. It's about to start getting colder around here... :]

In other news: I beat Metroid on normal with 100%. It was good. Unfortunately, it wasn't amazing. Something about that style of 2.5D+FPS just didn't add up to a stellar platformer. This saddens me.

Would it have benefitted the game if it would have been only 2.5D?

NSFW. Bunch of crap from the people that did that Star Trek TNG edit way back.

In my opinion, yes. It would have made the game an order of magnitude better. At least, it would have for me. Switching to and from FPS mode often is really annoying and actually puts a break in the action in my opinion.

It would be one thing if in FPS mode you could scan objects and read up on lore in the game world (like in Metroid Prime). In Other M, though, it's really not like that. Mostly for aiming, killing certain bosses, etc.

My grass has finally dropped into "standby mode", which is a huge relief. No more mowing the lawn! Or weeding! We're still hitting about 90F during the day, which is nasty.

At first it sounded a bit like retarded Anime-Japanese, so I recorded, reversed, down-pitched and slowed it and it turns out it's ordinary (retarded (intentionally?)) English

Haha, I wouldn't have thought someone would go through the effort.
Originally I was going for an over the top mocking of typical cat in a box type videos (perhaps with a lil double rainbow inspiration).

Just for shits and giggles I started messing with it more and it started sounding so demented I just ran with it. There's a little DragonForce mixed in at slow speed for added effect.

Hehe, is Lulu your cat? The patches on her fur are cool... like she's wearing a super hero mask/jumpsuit.

Woe is the game industry. Doom and gloom. Nobody is making money!

Yes, old man Time is a motherfucker. Welcome to the growing horror of getting old and realizing you've done none of the things you aspired to do. Or maybe that's just me.

On a happier note; how important is wiki markup to the wiki concept? For example, if there were a site that provided user editable documents via google docs style rich text editor or ckeditor, would it still be a 'wiki' given it provides all the other wiki functionality: versioning, discussion, etc?

I'm guilty of that too. I intended to built an arcade stick this year but now I find myself unwilling to spend any money on the necessary equipment and parts.

I must admit I've only accomplished a few of the things I set out to do this year. Inimicus looks like it's still a go, but I haven't even thought about getting my Ultima maps mounted and up on the wall, nor have I bothered to finish replacing all the ten year old blinds in my house with better ones.

I find it more useful to keep a yearly list (and a damn short one, at that!) rather than peg a bunch of long term goals that I'm 99% certain will never come to pass.

Dunno. The whole 'wiki' concept is starting to become somewhat ubiquitous in that anything that is online and open to edits is often colloquially referred to as a wiki. So... maybe?

Google Code does a Wiki without markup (WYSIWYG), and that's acceptable I've found.

I've been kicking ass and having a great time the past year!! I've learned a lot about myself and experienced new things, places (and people)! Assuming I'm able to continue keeping my current plan on track things will only get better too. Now excuse me while I go lead an awesome existence :D

Yes! Speaking of which, how's that thing doing anyway? Every time I see one I can't help but think it'd be a good ride for commuting. The gas mileage must be awesome.
