Ah ha ha... I'm totally fucked now :) And as if that weren't bad enough (and believe me, it is) I also have Fallout: New Vegas loaded.

Damn region locking on Wii.... bleh.

I'm going to buy the game tomorrow. If it's possible to find it anywhere. It sounds like there is just a handful of discs in the whole country. Seriously wtf.

On top of the low initial pressing, I'm sure a decent number of Americans decided to import the game. I'm stoked... I can finally understand all the skills and menu options! I can also do quests now since I don't have to read moonspeak ¬ ¬

Someone at NoA needs to be ganked for this situation. Business drivel be damned, at least have some sort of import assistance program for people with unmodded Wiis who want to fork over some cash!

Yeah, I went to a number of stores today and nobody had the game in. Some didn't know about it D:.

Well fuck me and my lust for JRPG then :(.

Wheeee.... still playing Xenoblade. Again. At ~21 hours in, I've got another 50 or so to go assuming I keep the same pace as last time. This time around I get to play all the quests, so that should keep me going a while longer :)

I finally know what all the skills do ^_^ Yay.

I try not to gush or squeal with glee when I mention Xenoblade. I don't want to sound like I have a one-track mind... there's plenty of room up there for cats, pixels, boobs, and tentacles. I just have to make room for more stuff.

So..... I'll keep this brief. Once every 7-8 years or so a game arrives that really blows your mind, in a totally good way. I'm talking about stuff like Ultima 7, Deus Ex, or Chrono Trigger. Games that define gaming, to many people. Xenoblade is one of those games. I don't care what approach you take to acquiring this game, just get it. If you don't have a Wii, I hear there's this spiffy thing called emulation. I totally don't know about that ;)

Second play through, 35 hours in. I'm taking a short break to post this ^_^

Sounds like a real shame Nintendo has been too stupid to release it over here.

I have to admit if you take a short term perspective on everything (which many corporations are wont to do, thanks to the fickle and impatient nature of shareholders) not publishing it is good risk aversion: it hasn't proven to be a barn-burner in Japan or even Europe yet, has substantial localization needs, and would tie up valuable manpower and other resources to localize, promote and distribute it. It is also a dual-layer game which older Wiis seem to have a harder time reading. I've got a launch day Wii that has no problems reading dual layer discs, but the problem remains for some people.

Looking long term paints a different picture. Showing the game off at E3 years earlier, then stepping on the stage and saying you want to remind everyone that Nintendo still is a platform for strong games, while one of your very best is a no-show, burns quite a few bridges. It also makes you look like a cunt. Many of Nintendo's E3 titles over the years were no-shows, and that leaves people wondering what the point of the whole deal is. Why show off stuff you aren't going to commit to publish?

Economics aside, yes, it's a damn shame this isn't getting a NA release.

Isn't this usually where an Atlus steps in? Demon Souls was a first party Sony in Japan, if I remember correctly. But if EU Nintendo says yes, it certainly throws a wrench in things.

Such a shame.

Crippled? I was under the impression that being crippled was at least survivable.

Heh, I've been running around using Deckard's gun pretending I'm wasting replicants :)

I bought the strategy guide. When I'm done with the game, I can just read through the book and purr.

There are certainly differences between the two. Fallout 3 feels more spread out and a bit more bland, but that's just how Bethesda handles things. They have really, really damn tight game design, but it sometimes feels like eating wet cardboard instead of spicy noodles. Obsidian did a better job making the content compelling, but there are numerous balancing issues, annoying invisible walls all over the place, and there are more times when you can get trapped in an area without any way to leave.

I'm not really sure which one I prefer.

I'll just try it out I guess.

I did love the whole area of New Vegas.

I've been getting into a lot of web games of late. Most recently I stumbled upon quite a gem called Kingdom Rush. Its basically a Tower Defense game. But the developers managed to get a whole lot of mileage out of the sub-genre. I have to say it has been one of the most addictive gaming experiences I've had in a while. [Reverts to lurker mode]

Here's hoping you enjoy it even half as much as I did :)

I'm just over the halfway point in my second play through, at the 64 hour mark. I'm trying to complete all the quests and all other optional stuff... which is an absurdly profound in number.
