Okay. We have a thread for what we are playing, but how about one for what we want to be playing?

* * *

To quote Ben on Twitter "Who needs an indie metroidvania when you can have an indie metroid?".

* * *

Grimrock. F yeah.

Embedding the final trailer did not work, so I embedded the old one. Here's the link though.

http://youtu.be/xmSJ1iFx5zA

But whatever, it comes out today. I can't wait.

The graphics of Star Command remind me a lot of the Megaman Battle Network series. Not just because of the pixelated isometric view, but even in the warning overlays and explosion styles.

Haven't been waiting on anything recently except Diablo3.

Somehow that Star Command trailer made me want a Theme Space Station :D

Imagine a space station simulator in the style of Theme Hospital

That game has been in development forever. Looks pretty awesome, but at the same time watching the gameplay trailer makes me feel like it would be a little... boring? Not sure what it is. Seems very slow paced flying around having to carry dudes. Love everything else about it, though.

Herzog Zwei, anyone? Played the crap out of that game. :]

The trailer for Dishonored looks really sweet.

there's a demo for owlboy somewhere.. i've played it, and it's actually fun. has puzzles, etc. and the carrying isn't that annoying because you can teleport them to you if i remember correctly.. you use the guys to shoot for you since the own cant shoot..

I looked up this thread to post about this, but you have me beat by a couple of months now. It sounds like it has some Deus Exiness to it, with the ability to approach objectives in multiple ways and (from what I read) some consequences to your action depending on the things you do. One of the guys who did the original Deus Ex is working on this Dishonored game as well. I'm pretty interested in seeing more of this now.

*shrug* Typical Japan.

I'm undecided if I care or not. It looks like it has a lot of waiting (long cinematic special attacks). These limited-run Japanese localizations are pricey. $50 base w/ OST, $65 Special Edition (WTF!? A "Bath Set"!?), $99 Special Edition w/ Figures.

*cough* Of course I always buy the cheapest ones. If I wanted a sponge, I'd buy a sponge.

How about a large pic of Wasteland 2's current design style?

It's nice knowing that it's not going to be an FPS. ;)

As it turns out, Dragon Quest X will be an MMO and for Wii.

I'm so conflicted!

It's for WiiU too. At least it used to be.

Well we still need a Wii U to launch first. I think they were using Wii U controllers in the vid.

I did not expect to see another Rise of the Triad but it makes me feel warm inside.

Yeah, when I heard about it, I gave the old DOS game a try.

http://www.classicdosgames.com/online/1rott13.html

I was going to make some critiques about the game, but as it turns out, the original was less advanced than I once though. Wikipedia and Apogee's own site says ROTT was actually an attempt at a sequel to Wolfenstein (post Hitler), but it blew up in to something bigger. Still, ya.

Yeah, for some reason they ID didn't want to call it Wolfenstein because they thought it would distract people from their new IP Doom :P.

I hadn't played RotT since days long gone so I downloaded the shareware version from 3drealms and I must say that I'm impressed that they managed to do what they did with a modified version of the wolfengine.

I do need to figure out how to turn off forward/backwards movement with the mouse thought.

As someone who disappeared into WoW for a long period of time, never again.

It surprises me that there can be so many MMOs on the market at the same time - how many people realistically are going to put hundreds of hours into these games? Are there people out there playing 2 or more MMOs at once? It boggles the mind.

if you do a search online about mmo demographics, it's kind of interesting.. but I suppose if you delve into it, it's not that surprising.
I personally wouldn't want to put in countless hours for a game either.

Yeah I guess that matches my experiences - most people in my guild were in their 30s and married.

Anyway, i'm done spending so many hours gaming. Back to Dark Souls! (60 hours and counting...)

I know I would be easy prey for MMOs. For that reason, I never bought WoW, Eve Online, ... Otherwise, I am 100% sure I would have never finished anything at all! For the same reason I play almost no games anymore... And I'll stay the heck away from Diablo 3! Numero Dos already cost me so much time. :-)

Everytime I think about MMOs with the left side of my brain, I see no fun in playing 100s of hours just to raise a couple of numbers on a server on the internet... but my right-side brain screams: "LEVEL UP!!!!!!!"

What I don't like are the monthly fees. I'd feed obligated to play if I'm forking out $15 a month. I don't want that. I want the flexibility to pick-up-and-play whenever. Like with Diablo 3, I can sit down with friends and beat a chapter in an evening.
