Persona 4 was a masterpiece. A very cerebral game. The graphics in the series are stylish, but it's all about the storytelling and unconventional mechanics. Game of the decade.

P5 probably wont beat P4, but it'll probably still be really good.

I wouldn't quite call it game of the decade, but I will say that it's constructed and polished in ways that most games will only ever dream of.

I felt like the social interactions in P4 were more emotionally evocative than in P3.

Back in 2012 I posted about Axiom Verge. It's actually coming out later this month. Only about 3 years later. Not bad!

Still looks awesome. :]

Oh. I've been meaning to play it. I've had the beta for a while.

And the Doty rejoiced...... for he saw the amber light, and it was good.

Apparently this forum does not have a "report post" feature. You are lucky today, then!

No. Play Halo instead.

I kid. I kid.

So, look -- here's the deal: I'm an opinionated fucker and you're going to read this anyway so just let me unload for a moment. Deus Ex 1 is a classic and while it looks dated will probably still be a lot of fun. Just remember in the first part of the game your aim will be awful so just run up to people and pop 'em in the head with your pistol. No, I'm not joking. Then there was another game after that, but I think it was just a bad acid trip, and I don't suggest you bother looking into it. Probably never happened. Then there was a third game a few years ago which was similar to the original, but much shorter and watered down for the plebs with no attention span. You should still give that a try, at least. Then there was a mobile game, but I'll be fucked sideways if I'm going to play a game like that with touch controls, so I dunno if it's any good. Doty might know.

I'm still waiting for this, but admittedly I know absolutely nothing about the game.

And I should play this some day:

My new capture card should arrive today, so I'll probably be playing this today:

I really like Shadowrun. Haven't finished it yet, I think I have one or two missions left. Apparently the expansion is even better.
And I dont know anything about cyberpunk 2077 either but goddamn I want that game so bad.

Oh Vanillaware. Just keep on making the same game with a different skin.

After Odin Sphere and that sword game, I gave up. Beautiful games, just not enough depth for me. :]

Actually, this is true--there was no beating stuff up. A departure from the norm for them?

Odin sphere: walk around and beat stuff up, the beginning!
Muramasa Blade: walk around and beat stuff up, with swords!
Dragons Crown: walk around and beat stuff up, with friends!
Nonsensical named robo 13 game: jus' walkin'

:]

I couldn't quite figure out what the point was. The school uniforms gave me a persona vibe, but I got no sense of character from the ... Characters. Just "looking cool". *shrug*

More from Tokyo Game Show, there was a Dragon Quest+Minecraft hybrid shown. I'm a DQ nerd, and they're going for a DQ 1 motif, but I dunno.

Atlas has an event tonight for Persona 5, so expect a new trailer and release date.

I loved Dragon's Crown, but I got to do 3 and 4 player couch co-op, and that's the shit. Probably some of the best gaming I've ever had with friends over :)

I'll buy this just because it looks like moving art ;)

Okay, here's the new Persona 5 trailer. Lots of gameplay and cutsceen footage, entirely in Japanese.

Also, as expected, new release date is Summer 2016.

Apparently this is a VR game too (playable without).

This one is ASCII... or is it?

Ni no Kuni 2.

Psychonauts 2!

Also a Psychonauts VR game teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIZFYaakuHE

And another remake.

FF7 remake looks not bad. Voice for Barret sounds different than I'd expect. Cloud seems to be along the same lines as in Crisis Core and Advent Children. Neat. Will likely give it a go when it comes out.

Didn't even know there was an event. Huh. :]

It's a bit of a new thing that started last year.

PlayStation Experience (a Sony run fan event in San Francisco) as well as The Game Awards (replaces the Spike TV gaming award shows, far less BS).

Those Award Shows do have a bit of a bad rap, but Geoff Keighley gained some points for this.

I've always been rather ambivalent toward Kojima. His stories read like bad fan-fiction. Certainly he has an audience, but I'm not on board with that.
