Uh, I think we need one. You know, some place where we can bitch and moan about the crazy stuff we're working on as a group.

Website (still highly WIP)

If you're interested in contributing, PM me or 0xDB.

Right now I'm working on ASCII logos, because my brain is fried and I feel like it should be doing something. This is also a huge WIP.

Here is a random thought. If the web-space provider supports PHP/MYSQL, we could install MediaWiki on it and only give our group members edit access and everyone else only gets reading rights. I thought about doing that on my page for quite some time already but never get around to it.

The host supports pretty much everything via plugins. I'll look into that.

I think it's safe to say we have kicked off our next demo. We're still resting up from the last one, and will start doing something tangible in the next few weeks.

I would love to see a proper cover on a book that is exactly that, entirely blank on the inside. This seems like a joke book that needs to exist.

I'll write the forward. ;)

We're working on a special mini-demo right now. Details soon.

YES.

A simple and sweet demo at that. I love how well the bounces timed to the music.

I'm studying Amiga development for no good reason.

Been deep inside the pixel studies the entire year so far (I'm afraid nothing useful for the old Commie...) and started compiling knowledge about Pixels And Art into a glossary. The prospect of coding more demos is something I think about almost everyday... though... it still feels more like something I want to keep procrastinating on rather than picking it up again. :/

Me too, and had 2016 started out less weird than it did, we'd have been working on one by now. There are more demos in our future...

Yes! And it's probably better to not stress out about it anyway. We can just start whenever we feel ready and then pick an event for release when it's done. Demos which have been in production for several years are not unheard of in the scene (I think I recall reading something about 7 years in one of the best C64 ones out there).

When I can justify the time, I want to start experimenting with something shiny running in either WebGL or on Vulkan.

I'm not sure I'm actually that interested in making a 3D game anymore, but 3D demo, that's a different story. #TechFun

I would like to do one demo a year, and attend one party a year, and that was perfectly feasible in 2015, but this year is another kettle of fish. I have no clue what's going on in my life right now :D

Things are getting much, much better for me, but setting aside large chunks of time for demos is iffy at the moment.

In a half-assed attempt to get into the groove I looked at the source (and all the hoops we jumped through) for Pimp My Bento again today. Brain gave up after a few minutes, telling me to go f' myself. Uncooperative brain is uncooperative. Well... maybe the idea to do something will grow on it again, must give brain more time.

Alright, I've put 6h per weekend into my schedule to (losely at first) ease into it.

I think step one will be to update tools to current versions.

KickAssembler seems to have received quite a number of updates in our downtime: http://www.theweb.dk/KickAssembler/Main.html#updates

edit/update: log 2016_01_07

updated Java from 7 to 8 (both runtime and devkit) and from KickAssembler 3.4 to KickAssembler4.7

converted Cavelib, PimpMyBento and some experimental test sources with the 3.x to 4 converter that came with the new KickAssembler version

fixed code generation issues cause by syntax conversion

got royally fed up on the first day by all of the above but it works again
