I was meaning to make the summer thread for far too long. Sorry for the delay. Days are already getting shorter. Boo. :]

Our seasonal threads aren't as active as they were. We might be able to cut them down to yearly.

It was short (4x23 minutes), but I liked the Netflix Castlevania show. (It dropped today)

Season 2 confirmed with 8 episodes.

Gonna binge it later tonight.
Watched the first two episodes of the new Twin Peaks. My reaction seeing it can be summoned with one word; 'What?'

I still stand by my decision with regards to the cooking robot.

I dunno what's going on... I'm not sure if it's the way discourse is trending, or my continual immersion in it since ~1997, but I just don't want to talk to people over the intertubes.

Everyone seems to be a turbo-cunt who is dialed to #MAX.

And I know this board is full of chill people who can hold a reasonable conversation, but by the time I get back to here I'm just --done-- with people. I see cool things and think about posting here, and a few seconds later my brain just says "Naah... fuck it."

Yeah I hear that. I used to be very active on Twitter (I still try to be at least a little active), but as someone that doesn't care about politics, it's like the world from the United Kingdom to the United States is in total f*cking rage mode. So I'm blocking and muting a metric-ass-ton of people on Twitter now. I never read the newspaper because it's all depressing tragic shit, and now needing to micromanage my social media feed, I have less and less interest in using it.

I make shite, I like to enjoy the shite that others make, and I like chatting with others that make shite.

That's how I tailor my feeds. Even my reddit account, after they screwed up and I lost my old account, I now only follow a handful of niche feeds: Lenovo ThinkPads, Linux and Single Board Computers, Monster Hunter, the general Nintendo reddit (the Canada and Amiibo ones are too flooded with shitposts), something called InterestingAsFuck, and another called GIFRecipes (which is like a 1 minute silent cooking show).

And people are surprised that I don't use Facebook. *shrug*

^ This.

"Social" media needs a #pollutex filter. SRSLY, how the hell am I supposed to stay even remotely sane if reality keeps leaking into my escapism?!

I love you all. Keep making cool stuff, keep sharing, even if it's just a few thoughts now and then. If we all retreat into silence, only the negativity will remain on the web and even around us in "real" life and negativity resonates with more negativity and it will amplify right into WW3.

If the Lord Of The Rings has taught us anything, it is that we can't have freedom and peace if we all just hide away in the Shire... eventually, some dark lord would find us even there. What we need to do is, carry our Shire ways into the world, inspire others with our peace and creativity to also be peaceful and creative.

Apparently you can get a lot of mileage from a single effect ;)

I might have secured me an Amiga 500 for a very reasonable price ($50). Only downside is I need to drive like 90 minutes there and back to get it.

I also have a floppy drive emulator on order (by coincidence), which with a modified firmware should work in an Amiga 500 if what I'm seeing from my Google searches is correct. Huh.

I never owned an Amiga, only ever briefly played a couple games on one.

***

I picked up a Game Gear today, with power for $40. I'm seeing if I can find any replacement case parts. It's super cheap to get parts to retrofit a GameBoy, but it was a bit more popular so.

Yarg! Waiting for Amigaman to send a photo. I'm not expecting a disaster, just a little necessary cleaning.

I am ready to go this afternoon. I was going to sit on my butt and watch Evo, but acquiring an Amiga sounds better.

Seriously.

I've been thinking of getting an A500 for about five years or so. I don't *need* one, but I need one.

Same here. I don't need one, but I need one. :D

Anyway, we had to put pickup off until Tuesday.

I started doing a bunch of homework. The thing that makes it tricky is that AMIGA's don't have standard TV outs (well other than a crappy monochrome one). So I have a cheap SCART -> HDMI adapter on order (actually I have 2, but I later discovered that the original one I ordered doesn't do RGB SCART... oops). I still need an AMIGA to SCART cable though. ;)

Damn it. I hope this doesn't fall through. ;)

I think I want an SGI. They should be disposable (cheap) by now.
