I don't know about you guys but I'm glad it's finally cooling down a bit. I've never been a big fan of Summer.

You're always so early with these. Fall doesn't really start for another month! A well needed separation from that super long old thread though.

And yes, I'm glad things are cooling down. Most nights it's so cold that my AC in the window generates more heat running as a fan than simply opening up the window itself. Afternoons are still to warm. I hate that in-between period.

Winters are the best around here, because it gets cold as hell without ever snowing. All the fun without the mess!

Snow is awesome as long as the following two conditions are met: 1) You don't have to drive in it [except for doing stunts in a snow filled parking lot] and 2) You don't have to shovel/plow it. Other than those two craptastic things that come along with snow, it's great. It looks beautiful and it's incredibly fun to run around in (or throw at people).

Except the "cold" part of our winter lasts maybe a month and a half. ;_;

True. We get about four good months of comfy weather, and about one month of damn cold weather. The rest is hot as hell :(

I hate winter in this apartment. The windows are old single paned with wood frames. They're drafty as hell. Plus they're 12 feet high so multiply 'drafty as hell' times 'fucking huge' = 'heating bill sucks'.

It takes A LOT of plastic to seal up these big boys.... and a ladder :( Last winter I used a couple of tubes of silicon to seal up the biggest holes, that helped a bit.

Oh, and my favorite thing about Fall? FOOTBALL!!!! [/sarcasm]

We get soccer all year long. Probably the most boring sport ever, but the whole of Europe goes crazy about it. Bunch of retarded overpaid jocks running around for 90 minutes. If you're lucky you get maybe 5 goals, but usually it's more like 2 or 3 (or none at all). That is if they're actually showing a game and not talking about injuries or new coaches.

Newspapers are even worse. I counted 5 pages of soccer news today, versus 1.5 pages of "other sports". On top of that, we're not even good at the bloody sport. We just get results by naturalizing foreigners.

I'm not to keen on soccer either and our league sucks balls (heh!). I do follow national tournaments thought and find it interesting.
Yet, I'm more of a hockeyguy and the swedish league starts quite soon. Very nice.

I will never ever understand american football. I mean, they almost never kick the ball?

I love American football. I mean, it has speed, reflexes, ball control, tactics, very high quality of player base and good TV coverage. What's there not to love?

Compared to soccer, football is totally friggin awesome...

I'm there for the superbowl advertising. Though on occasion, I go out of my way to watch the X-Games, or catch Golf/Hockey/Baseball when I'm with my Dad.

Football is better than college basketball. Where I live the two adjacent state teams have a huge rivalry, and since the Missori 'Quantrills' Tigers burned down the city of Lawrence Kansas (home of KU) during the civil war, people tend to get a little too emotional around here. These are the events depicted in the Clint Eastwood movie "Outlaw Josie Wales".

It showed up early, but I figure it was appropriate.

The only sports I'll watch are women based. Women's iceskating, women's volleyball, etc. Women's boxing is the best, it touches a very special place in my heart.

Ludum Dare Tool-Weekend has started. Come up with something to make, talk about it, make it, and talk some more. Keep it for yourself, or share.

It does sound like a worthwhile endeavor, but I at the moment fail to think of any kind of tool I'd want to make. :( Except for the tool that hacks into the web and ships me one of those awesome toys! But I have doubts about the legality of such a tool... so... someone else should make it instead...

*mm* The next tool I need to write is visualization/gui stuff for my editor in Neverfall. Currently I'm falling into way too many traps by using hotkeys for everything. It's very complex to use if you don't know what all the keys do.
