I wonder what the point of the game is. Simply killing a bunch of people like a badass can get boring.

Ya know, I did find Serious Sam to be on the boring side, after the first few stages...

Ah, yeah... Actually I was playing Serious Sam 2 co-op for a while, and we quit after the first few levels :-P

That's Serious Sam 2. Serious Sam and The Second Encounter are awesome. Serious Sam 2 wasn't nearly as good as the original bunch.

Revenge of bad game acting. Castle Shikigami 2.

Actually, this time it's a case of INCREDIBLY POOR dialog. Seriously, how could you say that stuff and not sound stupid?

The second long delay between text scrolling in and sound playback is pretty annoying too.

- - - - -

EDIT: It seems I have this game. Excellent. Nice work my used game browsing skills. :D

EDIT2: Sequel seems to have dialog that's more sophisticated than a babelfish/google translation. I wouldn't exactly call it good though. , , .

EDIT3: More from #2. Abrupt and strange, but that first clip up top is unbeatable. , ,

Here's a video discussing the possible "third way to play games", among other things.

I'm on the fence about that one, but much like "easy" mode in some games, you aren't forced to use it.

Yeah, bring on the "I don't care about your stupid level grinding" mode. In those sort of games though, you'd hope there's some cool secret stuff available to normal players. People using the "fast forward" button certainly don't deserve the cool super weapons, summons, etc.

Ugh... I hate grinding for the sake of grinding. Leveling up should be two things, in my opinion, and most games fail on both accounts:

 1. Integrated into meaningful tasks, and
 2. Directly related to the skills you used to gain experience (shooting a lot levels your marksmanship, in addition to your general exp)

I know I've gone off about this before, but it's germane to the conversation, and I don't think it can be overstated. I recently lost my gf to WoW, which is one of the most egregious offenders in modern gaming.

Friend of mine broke up with his GF over wow. She treated the game like it was his 2nd lover, and he was stuck in a dead end job and couldn't afford to do anything else, so had nothing else to talk about. Strangely, when he met his new GF wow was never an issue, and the more time he spent with her the less he played. Stopped playing his subs a year ago now. TBH I don't think wow had anything to do with their relationship problems at all...

YMMV. Grinding is boring, regardless. Games need to be challenging to be exciting in my opinion.

Oh my god... I... just. Yes? I'm virtually speechless. Stop what you're doing and go watch the RoboGeisha trailer. NOW.

It's like someone took awesome and ineffable, threw them in a blender, then injected the contents directly into my eyes.

Like fried shrimp. Damn, I don't know if I'd be able to actually sit through that movie, if it really exists.

On the topic of the strange, some creepy old ads. Who'd-a-thunk abuse and murder were effective marketing tools.

Oh, and Baby+UFO accidents. Certainly the first thing that comes to mind for me when I think "clean".
